Celebrity Hair Care Secrets for Healthy and Lustrous Hair
Often we wonder how celebrities manage to sport healthy and lustrous hair in-spite of using harsh hair colors, flat iron and blow dryers. All have the pressure to sport different styles and also look effortlessly glamorous. They all follow a daily routine which helps them to shield and nourish their hair from the damages of several styling products.
Emily Blunt said she uses “Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask” for her hair. She sleeps with it on her hair as her hair is prone for damage by all the harsh hair colors.
Eva Mendes deep conditions her hair by leaving in “Pantene Conditioner” for sometime and the result is a supersoft hair.
Below are some of the Celebrity Hair Care Regime:
Don’t Wash Your Hair Everyday
Believe it or not celebrities don’t wash their hair daily. They mostly prefer to do it once in 3 days to avoid getting their hair dried out. Kim Kardashian washes her hair once in 5 days and follows a 4 day routine to look fab between those washes. She starts with a blowout on Day 1 and flat iron’s it on Day 2 and opts for a sleek look on Day 3 that requires a little oil in her hair. On Day 4 she sports a pony tail and on Day 5 she finally washes it!
Deep Conditioning Treatment
After shampoo always remember to deep condition your worn out hair. Even if it is not frazzled deep conditioning is required for maintenance. It helps to hydrate and soften your hair damaged by chemicals of hair color and styling products. Make sure to apply the conditioner from the ends of your hair strands working towards the scalp. It’s best to leave the conditioner on for at least 5 to 20 minutes depending on the condition of your hair to absorb the required nutrients and hydration of the conditioner.
Another great tip would be to leave the deep conditioning treatment for sometime by wrapping your head with towel. This towel should be soaked in a bowl of water and heated in a microwave for a minute. The water should be squeezed out of the towel before wraping it around your head. This helps the conditioning treatment to penetrate your hair and give you those shiny locks.
After conditioning, wash your hair with cold water to close the cuticle and seal in the moisture, thereby giving you a healthy shine.
Oil Your Hair
Celebrity Stylists often use Moroccan oil to keep the hair shiny and manageable. It’s an argan oil with hydrating vitamins A and E. It’s best to massage the oil for 10 to 15 mins to improve blood circulation in your scalp area. Don’t leave the oil for more than 24 hours as it starts attracting dirt.
Some stylists also suggest to apply the Moroccan oil after shower and before you blow dry as the oil acts as a heat protectant.
A lot of celebrites including Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Nanette Lepore and Clare Daines love Moroccan Oil.
Use Heat Protectants
Before blow drying or using flat irons always use a good heat protectant so that your hair is less likely to be damaged by heat burns. Its best to apply them on wet hair. It mainly helps reduce moisture loss and makes your hair smoother and manageable.
For That lovely Gloss
The above steps should help to get a healthy shine. You can also go for shine serums for additional glossy locks. Amanda Seyfried doesn’t see a point of putting a lot of styling products in her hair, She simply uses “Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Shampoo” to enrich the shine of her hair.
Make it a point to massage your scalp while applying shampoo or oil to improve the blood circulation. Eat food rich in proteins and vitamins for a healthier hair. Reese Witherspoon mentioned that she takes “Viviscal Tablets” supplements to keep her hair healthy.
